Patient Care Services
Kindred Hospitals use a multidisciplinary team approach to care that helps our patients return to the highest quality of life possible. Our areas of patient care services include:
Physicians
Your clinical treatment decisions are the chief responsibility of your physicians. As a member of the medical staff, your physicians makes the necessary arrangements for laboratory services, X-rays, medications, special diets as well as other treatment decisions or service.
Nursing
Nursing services are provided around the clock to meet each patient’s unique needs. Through the Department of Nursing, care plans are created in conjunction with physicians, therapists and specialists in other disciplines.
Surgical Services
Surgical services are available for patients around the clock. If necessary, for some specialty procedures, patients may be transferred to another facility.
Respiratory Therapists
Under the direction from the medical staff a dedicated and skilled team of licensed Respiratory Therapists provide 24-hour coverage to evaluate, treat and manage patients with compromised airways and cardiopulmonary problems.
Laboratory
Operating under the direction of a Lab Director, the laboratory is responsible for conducting any tests that are ordered. Our advanced equipment performs tests accurately and quickly, with results available on the same day whenever possible. We are a paperless process totally interfaced with Kindred's EMR.
Pharmacy
An integral part of the patient care team is our staff clinical pharmacists. The pharmacy staff closely monitors each patients pharmacotherapy and makes recommendations to achieve the best clinical outcome for each patient.
Food Services and Nutrition Support
The goal of our dietitian is to strive to meet your nutritional needs and prepare diets as ordered by your physician. The dietitian also performs periodic nutritional assessments and monitors your nutrition plan. Please make the dietitian aware of your food preferences and any food allergies you may have.
Physical Therapy
Our physical therapists are an integral part of your rehabilitation process. Under the direction of your physician, they evaluate, treat and provide rehabilitation for muscular, skeletal, neurological and circulatory diseases.
Occupational Therapy
The work of the occupational therapist helps promote independence in daily living skills such as feeding, bathing, dressing and grooming. The goal we strive toward is to increase your strength, endurance and coordination.
Speech Therapy
When required, a licensed speech and language pathologist provides therapy to improve your speaking and swallowing skills as much as possible.
Case Management Services
Every patient is assigned a case manager that will follow the patient from admission through discharge. The case manager will assist the health care team in understanding the significance of social, economic, emotional, spiritual and family factors in relation to the patient's illness, treatment and recovery. The case manager is available to assist with a number of services including, but not limited to: post hospital planning and referrals, advance directives, referrals for counseling and assistance with health insurance benefits. The case manager serves as an advocate for the patient.
Chaplain Services
We provide a list of area chaplains who have offered to be available to patients and their families upon request. Nursing supervisors and case managers can provide lists upon request.
